Witney lies some 12 miles west of Oxford and is the largest town in west Oxfordshire. The town became world famous for its blanket making made possible from the availability of the nearby Cotswolds and their equally famous sheep. Present day claim to fame is that David Cameron, leader of the Conservative party is their local MP!
